The Foreign Legion Climbing Club

The Foreign Legion Climbing Club was given its name by Paul Gough, skipper of a converted trawler that was chartered to take a bunch of climbers to Hoy in the Orkney Islands off the north coast of Scotland, where they were to climb the Old Man of Hoy - a 425 foot sea stack. The name stuck.

There have been a number of other (ad)ventures involving the same crowd of reprobrates.

More anon . .
